Vimeo has been a staple for photographers, videographers and just people in general that enjoy a higher quality of content and video than some other websites and services currently offer. Vimeo is well known for it’s creative users who consistently produce high-quality short films and montages. Recently, Vimeo announced support for the iPhone 4 and iPad. No application download is required, just point your browser to the website and the device you are using will be detected and the appropriate player will be displayed for videos.

On Vimeo’s company blog, Andrew Pile had this to say:

While it was relatively easy to build an HTML5 player that worked on Vimeo.com, making an experience that could live and work anywhere is actually a big undertaking. For example, we had to write several new video players to replace what used to be just one: behind the scenes there is a new Flash player, new Flash mobile player, new iPad player, new iPhone player, and new HTML5 player. And we expect to add more.
