“The Only LTE iPhone” Verizon’s Marketing Campaign

MacDailyNews is either trying to get a bump in traffic or they have some credible information about Verizon’s iPhone 4. Hey, or both.. Word is that Verizon already has the iPhone 4 in their possession and are making the necessary arrangements to start selling it as soon as a formal announcement is made.

Verizon’s version of the iPhone 4 will run on it’s new network technology called “LTE”. Verizon has just started rolling out LTE and will be marketing the iPhone 4 as “The Only LTE iPhone” or at least something close to that. File this under ..maybe.

Is There Still Hope for the White iPhone 4?

May so. Recent Apple stores are saying “We’ve got the white iPhone 3! Come on in!”. Well, come on in, Spring 2011. Signage points out that the albino iPhone 4 won’t be available till much later, well into next year. Some think that, despite the evidence, the white iPhone 4 will never make it to the marketplace.

Others are dead set on it and this is only fueling their desire to hold off on signing that 2-year contract. Those who are holding out will have a tough decision next year though, do they opt for the White iPhone 4, which will be last-gen or do they wait even longer for a White iPhone 5..

While Apple hides away, refusing to confirm or deny anything regarding the iPhone 4 and Verizon Wireless, Kevin Rose(CEO of Digg.com) is stirring the post. In a recent tweet, Kevin suggests that he knows a little more that the rest of us on the matter.

AT&T sucks in SF, very very excited to get the iPhone on Verizon next year :)

Analysts say the iPhone 4 will be available on Verison’s network sometime next year but it’s still too far off to know if the iPhone 4 will take advantage of Verizon’s new LTE technology. Verizon’s LTE more or less means faster speeds for users. 31 Major cities are expected to begin using LTE in December.

Verizon to See the iPhone 4 Early Next Year

Major media outlets are stirring up rumors, rumors that have been far overdone. Verizon recently announced a future upgrade to the speed of their network set to take place early next year. Speculators think that Verizon might see the iPhone 4 by next year. Apple is still available only to AT&T customers, something that has been long despised. Only time will tell when the iPhone 4 will finally break free from the clutches of AT&T.

Apple Press Event to Unveil White iPhone 4

The Internet has exploded of rumors of Apple releasing the white iPhone 4, Verizon as their new carrier, the iPod Touch 4G and possibly the iTV. Apple has definitely worked up the tech world and there may be some added pressure to release info that would draw more sales in before Microsoft launches their new Windows Phone 7(Free Windows Phone 7 Phone) along with smartphones running Windows Phone 7 this Holiday season.

It’s for that reason that speculation is so high right now as to what Apple’s next move will be. By announcing and launching the white iPhone 4 or launching the iPhone 4 on Verizon earlier, Apple can capitalize on revenue instead of suffering a blow from Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 devices. Steve Jobs is expected to speak at Apple’s official press release this Wednesday.

iOS 4.1 to Fix iPhone 4 Antenna and Proximity Sensor Issues

Rumor has it that iOS. 4.1 is right around the corner and according to speculation, it may finally be the update that iPhone 4 users have been waiting for.  The iPhone 4 has had many complaints about antenna issues that is now clearly known as software related but another problem that hasn’t recieved so much press is also becoming a fast growing problem, the proximity sensor.

The proximity sensor is supposed to recognize when you are in a call and shut off the screen while the device is close to your face. The proximity sensor seems to be lacking and iOS 4.1 is rumored to fix not only the proximity sensor but the antenna issue as well. If users have their wish, Apple will once again have another perfect device on their hands.

Skype to Rival iPhone 4 FaceTime

A mixup posted on the internet a few days ago, led iPhone and Skype fans to believe that Skype was planning to integrate or at least work with Apple to bring FaceTime and Skype’s service together. It was later clarified by a Skype spokesperson:

“Skype is the market leader and champion of video calling for consumers and it’s clear to us that mobile video will become increasingly important to our customers in the coming year. We are glad to see that Apple recognizes the value and potential of mobile video.

However, just to be clear, we are not considering FaceTime as a technological platform for video calling in our own products. Based on Apple’s statement about FaceTime being an open platform, we are looking forward to see how this process unfolds. We look forward to working with Apple to bring the best possible mobile video calling experience not only to the millions of Skype users on the iPhone around the world, but also to the countless more making video calls on desktops, TVs and other connected devices.”

Could FaceTime work with Skype or will Skype take a different route? If Apple and Skype do collaborate on this, how will AT&T feel about this?

Earlier Release of the iPhone 4G?

BNET recently wrote an interesting article in which they explained that Apple may be forced to release the next iPhone a little earlier than when we assume they will. Apple usually releases new products in July, holding on till the last minute in-order to avoid any drop in sales because of buzz about a next generation product. An Apple employee lost a prototype a while back which gave us all a look at the new iPhone 4G. This could put a big dent in sales and Apple may be forced to get the 4G version on shelves quicker in-order to offset a drop in sales and maintain stock prices.
